1 - The role of AKIS for Agroecology - April 24, 2024

In order to implement European legislation such as the Green Deal, Farm to Fork Strategy, or the Biodiversity Strategy, new knowledge, technologies, and systems in agriculture are required. The Agroecology Partnership provides an ideal foundation for this.

Led by Taru Sandén, the research group from the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety, Department for Soil and Plant Health (BGPE, Austria) organizes regular online discussion rounds on agroecology as part of the Agroecology Partnership. The first discussion round took place on April 24 this year, online via Zoom.

The speaker, Torsten Rødel Berg from Aarhus University (Denmark), first explained the historical background and the numerous advantages of Living Labs, highlighting the need for continuous exchange between the various project stakeholders.

Following this, Pénélope Lamarque from the Walloon Agricultural Research Centre (Belgium) discussed the potential of a holistic approach to achieving these goals, involving all stakeholders.
